Crypto.com Card Fees: The US Fee and Limit Schedule in Plain English
Crypto.com card fees in the US: top-up, foreign transaction, ATM, reissue and inactivity fees by card tier, plus the limits that apply, from the official page.

For US cardholders, Crypto.com card fees as of October 2026 are: 1% to top up with a debit card, 2.99% with a credit card and 2.1% with PayPal; a 3% foreign transaction fee on the Midnight, Ruby, Jade and Indigo cards, with none on Rose, Icy and Obsidian; 2% on ATM withdrawals above a free monthly allowance; US$7 or US$50 to reissue a card; and a US$5.95 monthly inactivity fee after 12 months without use. Spending itself has no separate fee line on the schedule.
All figures in this guide come from Crypto.com’s official help page for the US Prepaid Visa Card, last updated on 1 September 2026. Crypto.com publishes separate fee pages for other regions, including the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and Singapore, so check the page for your own region.
What Kind of Card This Is
Crypto.com describes its card as a prepaid card. It is not linked directly to a bank account; you top it up first, from your Crypto.com crypto wallet, your cash account or another debit or credit card, then spend that balance. In the US, the card is issued by Community Federal Savings Bank under a license from Visa, according to Crypto.com’s card page.
The card comes in tiers. Crypto.com says your Level Up plan, its rewards subscription programme, decides which card tier you can apply for. The fee page uses the card names Midnight, Ruby, Indigo, Jade, Icy, Rose and Obsidian, and maps them to the Level Up plans Basic, Plus, Pro and Private.
Top-Up Fees
Loading the card is where most everyday fees appear.
| Top-up method | Fee |
|---|---|
| Debit card | 1% |
| Credit card | 2.99% |
| PayPal | 2.1% |
The minimum top-up by debit or credit card is US$20 on every tier. Crypto.com’s fee page does not list a separate fee line for topping up from your Crypto.com crypto wallet. Crypto.com’s card page says exchange rates depend on your jurisdiction and your card tier, so check the rate shown in the app before converting.
Foreign Transaction Fees
If you pay in a currency other than US dollars, or withdraw cash abroad, the fee depends on your tier:
- Midnight, Ruby, Jade and Indigo: a 3% fee on purchases and cash withdrawals in any currency other than US dollars.
- Rose, Icy and Obsidian: no foreign transaction fee.
For anyone who travels or shops from overseas websites often, this is one of the biggest differences between the tiers.
ATM Fees and Limits
Each tier has a free monthly ATM allowance. Withdrawals above it cost 2% of the amount.
| Card | Free per month | Daily limit | Monthly limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Midnight | US$200 | US$500 | US$5,000 |
| Ruby | US$400 | US$1,000 | US$10,000 |
| Indigo / Jade | US$800 | US$2,000 | US$10,000 |
| Icy / Rose | US$1,000 | US$2,000 | US$10,000 |
| Obsidian | US$1,000 | US$2,000 | US$10,000 |
Every tier is limited to three ATM withdrawals a day. Crypto.com also notes that any surcharge charged by the ATM provider is counted towards your ATM withdrawal limit. The ATM owner’s own fee is separate from Crypto.com’s 2%.
Card Fees: Issuance, Reissue and Upgrade
- Physical card issuance: US$4.99 for the Midnight card. For the Ruby card, US$29.99 applies to Level Up Plus monthly subscribers with less than six months of consecutive subscription; it is free for annual subscribers, monthly subscribers of six months or more, and users with an active Level Up token lockup.
- Reissue: US$7 for the Midnight card and US$50 for other Visa cards.
- Upgrade: waived.
Inactivity Fee
If there is no cardholder-initiated financial activity on the card for 12 months, Crypto.com charges a monthly inactivity fee. The fee was US$4.95 a month and rose to US$5.95 on 1 September 2026. It stops, and the 12-month clock resets, once activity resumes. Crypto.com notes that declined and refunded transactions do not count as activity.
If you stop using the card, it is worth moving any balance off it before the 12 months run out.
Spending and Balance Limits
The fee page also sets limits on how much you can spend and hold:
| Card | Daily purchase limit | Monthly purchase limit |
|---|---|---|
| Midnight | US$10,000 | US$15,000 |
| Ruby, Indigo / Jade, Icy / Rose, Obsidian | US$25,000 | US$25,000 |
On top of these, there is an overall monthly withdrawal limit of US$15,000 for Midnight cards and US$25,000 for metal cards, covering purchases, ATM withdrawals and card-to-card transfers. The maximum card balance is US$25,000 on all tiers.
Top-ups have limits too. Across all methods, the combined limit is US$10,000 a day and US$25,000 a month on every tier. Debit and credit card top-ups are capped at US$250 a day and US$2,000 a month on the Midnight card, and US$1,000 a day and US$5,000 a month on the other tiers.
Reward Spending Caps
Card rewards only apply up to a monthly spending cap, which depends on your Level Up plan:
| Plan (previous card name) | Spending eligible for rewards each month |
|---|---|
| Basic (Midnight) | Not applicable |
| Plus (Ruby) | First US$750 |
| Pro (Jade / Indigo) | First US$1,500 |
| Private (Icy / Rose) | First US$3,000, then 0.5% |
| Private (Obsidian) | First US$5,000, then 1.0% |
This matters when you compare tiers: a higher reward rate only applies to spending under the cap.
Putting It Together
Which fees matter depends on how you would use the card:
- Mostly spending at home in US dollars: focus on top-up costs and the reward cap for your plan.
- Travelling or paying in other currencies: the 3% foreign transaction fee on lower tiers can outweigh other differences.
- Withdrawing cash: compare your usual monthly cash needs with the free ATM allowance.
- Using the card rarely: watch the inactivity fee.
You can read a short overview in our Crypto.com Card summary and compare it with other cards on the crypto cards list. Fees change, so the official help page remains the source to check before you act.
